Morganton Internal Medicine is committed to providing patients with convenient access to high-quality care. We believe that providing high-quality care is not only about the medical advice that we dispense, but more importantly about the relationships we have with our patients. We continue to strive to be a leader in innovative medical practices and are one of the first clinics in the area to offer online health services to our patients.

History

Morganton Internal Medicine was started in 1982 to provide Internal Medicine care for the residents of the Morganton area.

Providers

David S. Abernathy, MD

Dr. Abernathy has lived in the Morganton area since 1982.  He is married with 2 daughters.  A graduate of  Duke University Medical School and University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.  He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine, and member of American College of Physicians, NC Medical Society and Burke County Medical Society.   He joined Morganton Internal Medicine in 1983.

Michael S. Stutesman, MD

Dr. Stutesman has lived in the Morganton area since 1984.  He is married with 2 sons.  A graduate of Baylor College of Medicine and did his residency in Internal medicine at  Bowman Gray School of Medicine.  He is a Diplomate of the American Board of Internal Medicine.  He joined Morganton Internal Medicine in 1990.
